At SLUCare, we are committed to providing quality medical care. We also understand that some patients may need assistance paying for that care. If you need assistance, please talk with us about your situation. Your application will be handled confidentially.
When you receive a bill from SLUCare, your balance will be due in 30 days. If you need more time, call SLUCare Customer Service, 314-977-5050 or 800-682-9858, within seven days of receiving your bill. Online bill pay is also available. If you received services at a hospital, you will receive a separate bill from the hospital for services or tests provided.
Financial Help with Medical Bills
Patients who have balances due to limited or no insurance coverage may qualify for the SLU Community Care Program. Eligibility is based on the U.S. poverty guidelines. For details, call 314-977-5050 or 800-682-9858. Our representatives can also:
- Offer counseling regarding billing issues
- Direct you to Medicaid or other medical centers serving the St. Louis area
Budget Plan or Payment ArrangementsIf you do not meet the eligibility requirements for the SLU Community Care Program, and cannot pay the self-pay balance in full, you may be able to set up a budget plan or a payment arrangement through SLUCare. Call 314-977-5050 or 800-682-9858, or visit in person Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m,. at Drummond Hall, 3691 Rutger St., St. Louis, MO 63110.
Accounts not paid within a reasonable period of time, and for which no payment arrangements have been made, will be turned over to a collection agency.
Social Worker Services
SLUCare social workers help patients with insurance issues and transitional concerns, such as disability, unemployment, divorce, illness or mental illness. A social worker can also assist in applying for Medicaid, Social Security disability and other programs. To contact a social worker, call 314-977-4440.
